Sleeptalking

My hands feel weak and useless
As they fall down to my sides
I return here just to be with you
Like every night since I died

I saw you there crying
There was nothing I could do
This is how I spend my nights
Just sleeptalking to you

I'll find you in the morning
You haven't moved in days
The smell of death sticks to the paint
As our minds slowly decay

I try every single night
To hold you in my arms once more
But I pass over you like a veil of mist
And I'm damned forevermore

And yes it's true I wanted to die
When you saw what I'd become
But I didn't realize the afterlife
Would be so miserably numb

I saw you there crying
There was nothing I could do
This is how I spend my nights
Just sleeptalking to you

Now I watch over you from another plane
But I cannot interfere
Like the swollen clouds on a Summer night
I will be forever near

I saw you there crying
There was nothing I could do
This is how I spend my nights
Just sleeptalking to you
